With that in mind, I asked the following question this past week:
What are your predictions, bold or otherwise, for the Miami Dolphins' defense and offense in this coming Sunday's game vs. the New England Patriots? Who do you expect to lead the team in key categories like tackles, tackles for loss, pass breakups, interceptions, defensive touchdowns, etc., on defense, and receiving yards, touchdowns, receptions, rushing production, and first downs, etc., on offense? What are your stat-line projections for our key playmakers this week, and/or who will be the team's MVPs on each side of the ball?
Below are some of your takes and predictions for tomorrow's game-
DalFinsFan is rightfully curious about this oddity in the schedule that seemingly helps a team from a colder climate that just happens to be the Pats.
Curious why this is a late game instead of a 1:00pm ko.
dedstrk says make it mistake-free and maybe?
We need mistake free football and for the Pats to not take the Dolphins seriously enough for most of the game. Run the ball and continue on with the explosives and running the ball for first downs with Malik and OG.
Phinette says the route to victory is keeping the ball out of the Pats' offense's hands.
Our best shot at pulling off the upset is by controlling the clock. We need to stick with our ground game and avoid the costly three and outs. On defense we have to avoid being torched by the deep ball. If we can force the Pats to grind it out we have a shot.
Phoenix6 has Miami narrowly edging out NE for victory #2.
Defense: 1 sack, 1 fumble recovery, 2 interceptions. Rodriguez MVP.
Offense: Ollie 89yds, 1 TD. Malik 289yds passing, 49yds rushing, 3 TDs. Douglas MVP.

Phins1972 is much more focused on the rookies' development across the roster over the final score.
We got our one win, and at this point I'm less concerned with the scoreboard than I am with seeing which players take a step forward and which ones don't.
I really wish there were a young edge rusher on the roster who looked like a legitimate developmental piece. I'm still not a believer in Chop Robinson. He's played better lately, and credit where it's due, but I'm not sold yet.
I'm interested to see whether Caleb Douglas can build on his recent performance and make an impact again. It would also be encouraging to see Chris Bell put together a solid outing. On the ground, I'd love to see Ollie top 100 yards once more. If Miami gets one of those hot, humid afternoons, a big back consistently moving the chains could have Patriots defenders gasping for air by the fourth quarter.
If they can keep the game reasonably competitive, that'll be a positive. At this stage, player development is every bit as important as the final score, if not more so.
Bill Hazlett has the defense doing their job well enough tomorrow to give us the W.
JUK has Miami dropping this one by double digits.
The Pats are clearly a stronger roster top to bottom. I think we will need to win the turnover battle to have a chance which has been the pats weakness but if Maye keep things clean they should win.
It's likely to be a tough day for Willis if they get ahead too, as their secondary is so much stronger than our receiver room. We need to keep it close and run the ball well to have a chance.
finfanfromsiam points to this team's long-standing issue covering any decent TEs.
CluelessNFLfan says that reality sets back in with another loss.
The Phins come back down to earth this week. Pats 24, Phins 17.
Robert Burstein has Miami losing by two TD's.
I do think Miami can keep this game a little close until half time, but overall I think D.Maye will have a big game passing and making plays running. I've got Miami losing 13-27.
Molly Polly II sees another upset on the horizon.
I'm calling for an upset…why not! Patriots are favored +7.5. Defense tightens up shot group, Ollie beast mode another 100+ yards. Malik playing at home, confident, ready to prove he's the guy who can lead this team. Huge upset, Finz win with seconds left on the clock, 26-24! 🐬🐬
Gusman says it might be close, or Maye might just make the Dolphins' secondary look silly.
If Drake Maye plays as he has for the past 4 games he should carve up the Dolphins secondary. Miami should be able to limit the Pats run game. Pats will attempt to shutdown Miamis run game forcing the Dolphins into passing situations. The Pats have a much better secondary than the Phins.
Best bet for Miami is to hope Maye is sloppy and throws a couple picks and loses a fumble or two. The Pats are coming off a 10 day break and are not taking a Miami victory for granted. Should be a fairly close entertaining game.
Well, the vote is split, with some of us agreeing with Vegas that the Dolphins are clearly set up for another loss, while others are feeling a bit more positive after pulling out the win last weekend against the NY Jets. As always, I want to thank each of you who makes an effort to join our discussions and answer our Phinsider Question Of The Day. Please join us tomorrow for full game coverage and, of course, the live game thread.
