Dan Tom, MMA Junkie Sat, October 31, 2026 at 4:01 PM UTC · 2 min read About Our Ads Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement Luana Santos and Yana Santos meet on the UFC Fight Night 292 main card at the Meta APEX in Las Vegas. Check out this quick breakdown of the matchup from MMA Junkie analyst Dan Tom.

Luana (11-2 MMA, 6-1 UFC) looks to extend her winning streak to four in her second appearance of the year. Her current run includes a submission of Tainara Lisboa and decisions over Melissa Croden and Karol Rosa.

Yana (17-8 MMA, 7-5 UFC) also aims for her fourth consecutive win. Her streak includes unanimous decisions over Chelsea Chander, Miesha Tate and Macy Chiasson.

Filling out the main card is a showdown between the same surname as Yana Santos takes on Luana Santos.

Striking may largely be a means to an end for both women at space, but I'd argue that Yana (formerly Yana Kunitskaya) carries a bit more sting to her shots. That said, I have to give the submission edge to the Brazilian fighter, Luana.

A black belt in judo, Luana should be able to have the slight edge in the key junction that will be the clinch. But with the clinch also being an area where the Russian fighter does her best work, I'm expecting an ugly, drawn-out affair in close quarters.

I'll reluctantly pick Luana to edge out a contentious decision on the cards.
