The Dream suffered a painful 68-63 defeat in Game 7, as they were bested by the Valkyries, who, led by Gabby Williams, showed a great resurgence to win their first-ever WNBA championship.
Angel Reese, who has been brilliant for the Dream all series, scored only 8 points. The Valkyries' defence made it extremely difficult for her to score, which is why they were able to contain the Dream to just 33 points in the second half.
Mitchell has been a big supporter of Caitlin Clark and even spoke out against the criticism directed at Clark for her previous comments.
She has been rooting against the Dream during the Finals, and after seeing Reese lose in Game 7, Mitchell felt it was the perfect opportunity to have some fun.
"Caitlin Clark would've won," wrote Mitchell on her X account.
Mitchell has been a huge supporter of Clark. When Kelsey Mitchell said how she was being treated for playing alongside Clark, some criticism was directed at the 24-year-old.
However, Mitchell was not in agreement with everyone talking against Clark. She said: "Caitlin Clark signed a contract to play basketball, not supervise the people watching it. Y'all act as if she has to be held accountable for every person tuning in to the WNBA. She needs to be held accountable for their political affiliation. She needs to be accountable for their preferences. Everything they say, everything they do."
With Reese being one of Clark's biggest rivals, Mitchell has always been critical of whatever the former LSU player has said. When the Dream star said that she didn't have any black dolls, Mitchell was quick to have a response to that. "If you didn't have black Barbie dolls, that's on your parents. I'm twice your age and they were plentiful," wrote Mitchell.
Reese's loss in the Finals was another chance for Mitchell to take a dig at the Dream forward, who has never shied away from expressing her opinions.
